My journey into ‘Myself’ in the Peruvian Amazon

In November last year, I decided to try something a little off the beaten track. Inspired by the work of Dr Gabor Mate, and needing to re-centre myself following the death of my father and more painful revelations earlier in the year, I ventured to the Peruvian Amazon to take a deeper look inside myself with the help of the hallucinatory affects of the South American plant medicine, ‘Ayahuasca’. It was one of the most profoundly painful, revealing, but deeply helpful healing three weeks of my life. This video was shot by the centre at which I was staying, a brilliantly run organisation called ‘The Temple of the way of Light’. And just in case you think I look a little weather-beaten; I was, as almost everyone in the cam had succumbed to a bout of ‘pink eye’ brought on by some bug inherent to jungle living. I can only speak from my experience of drinking ayahuasca and the energetic revelations exposed by this extraordinary process. I went with an open heart and was rewarded with an ever more opened mind. I would recommend this to anyone. I would however caution you only to explore such a venture with a recognised and well-established centre such as The Temple. It is not for the fainthearted and I would only recommend people embrace this level of self-exploration if you are truly ready and desiring to take a very deep look within. You are welcome to contact me should you wish to discuss this whole process further.
